United Way Donates Land to Habitat for Humanity

Darlington County Habitat for Humanity is delighted to be in partnership with United Way of Hartsville and the construction of the newest Habitat home in Hartsville. United Way “envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, and healthy lives.” The organization has donated 15.76 acres of land in the Promise Acres subdivision on North Marquis Highway to Darlington County Habitat for Humanity. In addition to the lot, United Way has also provided $6,000 to fund the foundation of the first Habitat home.

Mark Haenchen, Habitat Executive Director says, “Habitat and United Way are both dedicated to improving the lives of the residents in Hartsville. We believe it is a great partnership”. Framing began January 5, 2015 and the home is expected to be finished by June.
